Keto Sloppy Joes

You can eat the mix with a fork, or on an Oopsie roll. It’s also great on an iceberg lettuce bun! Crunch yum! Makes 8 servings (If making accompanying set of oopsie rolls – plan accordingly – you will need a double batch unless you’re planning to serve them open faced)

Ingredients

  • 2 T Olive or Avocado Oil
  • 6 oz yellow onion, minced
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef (recommend 80-85% for this one as too high fat will be wasted)
  • 1 15.5 oz can diced or crushed tomatoes (Make sure they are one without added sugar)
  • 1-2 T tomato paste
  • 1 T Dijon Mustard
  • 1 T Yellow Mustard
  • 2-3 T Primal Kitchen Steak Sauce
  • 2-3 T Brown Sugar
  • Swerve 1/2 plus 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp allspice (optional) 1/2 tsp onion powder 2 tsp Tamari
  • 2-3 T Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions

Heat oil in skillet, and add onion, cook 3 minutes then add garlic.

Cook until onions are translucent.

Add ground beef and 1/2 tsp salt. Cook completely, let sit til cooler (for easier handling) and carefully pour off all fat and liquid.

Add in all the spices and reheat, stirring to distribute spices. Add all the other ingredients. Let simmer10-15 minutes.

Taste, tinker with ingredients to suit your tastes. Find your preferred balance between the tart and sweet!
